WWE Royal Rumble 2015 HDTV

WWE made its debut on Pay-Per-View with the very first WrestleMania in 1985. The broadcast for that event was split between PPV and closed circuit TV. The following event, The Wrestling Classic, became the first WWE event broadcast totally on PPV. Over the years, other events (Survivor Series, Royal Rumble & SummerSlam) joined WrestleMania as the "big four" WWE PPVs. Currently, WWE puts on one PPV show a month, but the number once went as high as sixteen a year.
